The Davao Central College Senior High School Program began on June in the School Year 2016-2017 offering the Accountancy and Business Management Strand (ABM), the Humanities and Social Sciences Strand (HUMSS), the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Strand (STEM), and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Strand (TVL) . The first batch of Senior High School learners were accommodated at the newly built DCC Annex Campus, later renamed as the Davao Central College Basic Education Campus, along Rasay Street before being transferred to the DCC Main Campus the following school year. The school has since produced four batches of Senior High School graduates.
To address the needs of the learners and better prepare them for Tertiary education as well as future career paths, the Senior High School Program requires learners to take core, applied, and specialization subjects. These subjects are focused on helping learners develop the necessary skills and gain a sound understanding of the nature of their chosen career.
The Core subjects are focused on basic competencies learners should possess to be literate in the academe. These involve proficiency in language, arithmetic, media communication, social sciences, science, and philosophy. The applied subject hones the learners’ academic skills for professional applications such as research. The specialization subjects provide learners with an introduction to their chosen career path and hands-on training on basic skills specifically for their field.
The Senior High School Program aims to:
- Provide students with curriculum that will equip and enhance then with 21st century skills;
- Prepare students in their pursuit of higher education geared towards entrepreneurship and employment especially on the Technical and Vocational courses;
- Promote developmental skills in preparation or their livelihood when they finish Senior High School;
